Study tour in Zurich, Ljubljana: 18-21st April 2012
In April 2012, we went on another excursion in the framework of the World of Art, this year's institut za jadranske kulture goal was to Zurich. On Tuesday evening we started traveling by train, of course, not without delays and eager coffee we arrived on Wednesday, if I remember correctly, about ten o'clock in the morning. The first stop was the pension institut za jadranske kulture FürDich us with its interesting equipment, friendly staff and the location immediately impressed. Despite the fact that there are nine of us shared one bathroom. Since we were already early afternoon waiting for tours, we immediately try how long we need to all stuširamo and fresh (but not too much refreshed) resolved to realize the important institutions / facilities for contemporary institut za jadranske kulture art. Departure was scheduled on a Saturday night, so we tried these bad four days time making the best use, including organized program of course and I think we have to some extent succeeded. Reports and impressions of our visits are collected in chronological order below.
The first of the visits we were headed in the industrial zone of the city, where we entered institut za jadranske kulture into a large, gray buildings. Later we learned that the entire building formerly used as a toy factory in the nineties has worked as a squat with techno parties (the long corridors and spacious rooms, which remains despite the current appearance hint, they had to be perfect!). Currently, the entire complex is intended for busy spaces wide variety of individuals and groups from different disciplines. The building work for about 250 people, but it is not a cultural ghetto, we later explained institut za jadranske kulture our host. We visited Relax studio, where we adopted the Daniel Hauser, an artist who along with Maria-Antonietta Chiarenza creates a reasonably large area that they have in this former factory. Together creating since 1983, when they met at an interesting first joint project - an attempt to legalization squat in Paris. There are to begin their joint career as artistic duo, then the format operation slightly changed, but Relax in fact from Paris consists of Hauser and Chiarenza with occasional collaborators. For some time creating in Biel, in Zurich are since 2000. Creating institut za jadranske kulture in a variety of media and is quite deal with the question of art in public spaces and in her work she questions the values of what you include, exclude ... Currently create project-Visible Invisible, wherein, inter alia, also note how, for example. women artists only be seen from the sixties onwards. In addition to the projects we Hauser also try to briefly institut za jadranske kulture explain how the Swiss system, how they are organized, the problems faced as an artist and as a person. Virtually all be organized in an association, because only in this way can rent space to collect money ... All shouted quite complicated and bizarre (although I have no doubt that the structure on paper extremely organized and disciplined, but because institut za jadranske kulture we are in Switzerland) but could be a bit more interesting to deepen and explore the system itself, for a better understanding.
To conclude institut za jadranske kulture the meeting, the artist showed us a video that is a result of the project for the festival Money for Nothing, to which they were invited Hauser and Chiarenza in 2009. Video that we watched it, it was recorded in Warsaw and was composed of three parts days-long performance Hit the ground. It deals with the theme of time growing financial crisis and discusses the concept of banks, banking, economics. The project institut za jadranske kulture has involved a total of 14 people who were on performance prepared with discussions and then improvise. And I have to admit - turned institut za jadranske kulture out to be great players! Their attempt to raise donations to help banks was not only by these nothing much appreciated, rather the opposite. An interesting place, an artist, in short, a good start to our cognition Switzerland. Just in time critical, probably because there is no local source. Also, I'm sorry that we have not looked at several examples of his / their work, which is definitely worth a browse! institut za jadranske kulture
